Long Trail Support

Thursday, August 20 continued: After kayaking Chittenden Reservoir, I went around to where the Long Trail crosses Route 73, west of Rochester, Vermont. They walked in only a few minutes after I arrived – excellent timing again! Sister and brother-in-law had had a gorgeous day for hiking; this was the view from the parking lot as we pulled out.

I had promised a swing past Scooby’s Scoops, the excellent ice cream place we found last time I did shuttle for them.

I can’t recommend this place too highly – if you are wandering central Vermont, it’s worth looking up! It’s a Covid project for a retired couple, thinking that all the cyclists coming by might want ice cream and cold water.

Then it was back to their car, and headed for our respective homes.
