From our ORFS kayaking outing on Tuesday, I drove up to Ricker Pond State Park, in Groton State Forest, joining two friends there. We stayed through until Friday morning; the kayaking will rate separate posts. As one approaches the park, this sign appeared –

They lied.

Foliage is starting; we don’t really expect peak foliage for another couple of weeks. But there was color!
We ate really well, of course, kayaked daily, walked some – some people more than others – and generally enjoyed each other’s company.
Then, on the drive home:

That leaf is gorgeous. Ours are just starting.
