All the Leaves are Brown

“All the leaves are brown, and the skies are gray.”

November is not my favorite month – not even close! It tends to be cold and damp and dreary, with the colorful foliage mostly, and by now completely, gone, and without snow to brighten the landscape. The water is getting colder, to say nothing of the air, so kayaking is less appealing. We need the rain, but I have to keep reminding myself that rain is a blessing after this year’s drought. In normal times, I’d be on the road for most, if not all, of the month, visiting friends and relations in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Texas, and/or New Mexico. Sigh. Next year will be better!

  1. Beth, I agree with you about November! But so far ours has been mostly sunny and mild. I love the composition of your photograph! Anne
