
Christmas Day: I had to document the beautiful loaves of Sourdough French bread Bill made – it’s a several day process, using starter that’s been in the family for probably close to 50 years – and well worth it!

It went well with Christmas dinner, which was a community effort: Bill also made the perfectly cooked salmon with dill; Holly did the delicata squash (and the Gianduia Mousse Cake, not pictured); I made the kale with butternut squash, pepitas, pomegranate seed, Asiago cheese. The wine was a gift from Washington State.
And after a day of pouring rain and dismal gray skies:

It was, it was – I am so grateful to be able to spend these holidays with family who enjoys cooking – and is good at it!
