Boxing Day was spent knitting these fingerless mitts for my wonderful brother-in-law. I often give “construction included” gifts, and his was a bag of different yarns from which to choose. This was Brown Sheep Company’s Lamb’s Pride Bulky, in Forest Shadows, a partially started skein from stash. They used 77 grams, and I was definitely playing yarn chicken because I didn’t weigh out the yarn in two equal balls first – I ended up pulling out and reknitting on larger needles the first mitt. I ended up with a couple of yards leftover. But still, with bulky yarn it was about a day of knitting – and it’s not like I did nothing else! There were people to visit, blogs to read, food to eat…
I am knitting with that same yarn. It is so toasty warm.
