Train Travel

It’s a little over 100 miles from where I live to visit my sister and brother-in-law – and for less than I can fill my car with gas, I could purchase a round trip ticket on Amtrak. So today I caught the train in Claremont, New Hampshire, and they picked me up in Essex Junction. One good thing about train travel: I was able to knit. When I wasn’t looking at the scenery, that is! I came within a few rows of finishing the sweater for my cousin, and that will happen tomorrow.

I usually get photos of this covered bridge from the water – one place I launch the kayak is just up the river from it.

  1. Well, I wish we had more access to trains here, too – there’s one train a day north, and one south. At least they both come through during waking hours now; I once had to catch the train at 3AM to go south!
