With all the recent rain, there are lots of these toads, small and larger, hopping around the path to the house. One must be careful where one plants the feet!

Reassuring to see amphibians!

Lovely little ones, but yes, be careful where you step!

I love to see toads about. When my daughter was a toddler, she was toddling along in the front yard towards the front porch with me beside her. A toad started hoping along the sidewalk and my husband, thinking it was funny called out, “Oh no, watch out hear comes a toad!” She had been fine until he “warned” her. At the point she started screaming in fear of the poor little toad and my husband was upset that he scared her. I was rather mad at him at the time. It makes for a funny story now.

Yes, Bruce and I convinced her that roads were good animals and helped in the garden. She loved the flowers in the flower garden, so that worked out.
