Takoma Park, in Maryland just north of Washington DC, has lots of adventurous paint choices! I’ve never seen as many purple houses anywhere else. But this is the one that caught my eye this trip – I even went around the block so I could take its photo.
Friday, May 7 – Saturday, May 8: On my north, working my way home, I stopped in Takoma Park (just north of Washington DC) to drop off a book with a friend. Further down the road, these musicians were playing in a front yard. Then it was back on the road, driving northward, taking mostly back roads. I didn’t have a destination in mind, but when it started pouring rain I headed for the Manor Area of Cunningham Falls State Park, and settled in for a damp and windy night. The Roadtrek is warm and cozy, and I cooked myself a good dinner of seafood and pasta.
In the morning, the rain had stopped, although the sky was still cloudy. After breakfast, I wandered around some, taking photos of the honeysuckle
and tulip poplar flowers that had been knocked from the trees.
Then it was back on the road, heading north past Gettysburg, Harrisburg, and then onto I – 81 to New York State.
