Christmas Sewing

My sister and spouse make maple syrup in the spring. They rebuilt their backyard arch this year, and for Christmas requested a cover for it. This was my last sewing project of the year – for now it is basted together, and I’ll use an industrial machine to do the final sewing.

  1. Beth, You will have to explain this to me. I have never participated in maple sugaring and don’t know how or why an arch is useful. But your cover looks both handsome and utilitarian! Anne

    1. Picture an “arch” formed by concrete block walls, with steel rails along the top to support food service pans, which hold the sap, and can be moved along to a hotter or less part of the fire underneath. Something has to hold the pans over the fire!
